Rich of Ballwin, Missouri, had a dirty, unsealed crawl space, so he decided to call Woods Basement Systems to fix the issue. Systems design specialist, Jacob K., found a solution and recommended installing a CleanSpace encapsulation system and a SmartSump pump.
Foreman, James L. installed the products. CleanSpace is a vapor barrier used to fully seal off a crawl space from dirt, moisture, and critters. The SmartSump is specifically designed for crawl spaces and can help to prevent leaks and flood damage.
Now Rich E. has peace of mind, knowing his crawl space is safe and healthy.
Mel M. of Ellisville, Missouri had water coming into his basement, so he decided to call Woods Basement Systems for help. Systems design specialist, Max D. was able to find a solution and recommended installing a CleanSpace encapsulation system and WaterGuard.
Foreman, Tyler S. installed the products. CleanSpace is a very durable, vapor barrier made of inorganic materials, so it is not susceptible to mold growth. It is used to collect water that seeps through basement walls. WaterGuard is a perimeter drainage system, so it is installed below the CleanSpace around the perimeter of the basement floor. It takes the collected water and guides it to the sump pump to be fully removed from the home, keeping it nice and dry.
Now Mel M. has a dry basement.
Water vapor was seeping into a crawlspace in Ballwin, MO, creating a damp and musty environment. To solve this issue, the CleanSpace Encapsulation System was installed. This will completely isolate the crawlspace from the earth and reduce the humidity level. Any mold growth will also be eliminated, making the whole house healthier. The white color will also brighten the crawlspace and make it easier to see inside it. This crawlspace will remain dry and healthy for years to come!
A crawl space is the foundation of the air system in your home. A open crawl space can cause all sorts of troubles including odor, allergens, and heating/cooling costs.
By encapsulating your crawl space like Sam of Ballwin did, you can clean up the air quality in your entire home and create a usable space.

A dirt crawl space under a home can lead to unending problems. The earth has very high humidity in the soil. This water vapor moves easily into the crawl space and upwards into the house environment. Mold thrives and reproduces by producing airborne spores by the millions and some molds are toxic. Insects and critters of all kinds love the damp environment as well. The CleanSpace encapsulation system completely isolates your home from the earth. This dramatically reduces the humidity level in the air which, when combined with sealing outside air and dehumidification, will eliminate mold growth and rot from your crawl space and make the whole house a healthier environment.
The detail between the foundation wall, the sill plate, the rim joist, and the sub flooring allows for significant air leakage from the outside...especially when pipe wire penetrations are added. It is also this rim joist area that is often poorly insulated. Even when your rim joist is insulated with fiberglass bats, the outside air will still leak in through the bats, because this form of insulation acts as a filter. Spraying expanding foam insulation on the inside surface of the rim joist, to cover the sill plate down to the top of the basement wall, not only seals all air leaks very effectively, but it insulates as well.
