Team Woods installed CleanSpace vapor barriers to seal out excess moisture from the crawl space to make it a clean, dry, and energy-efficient asset to the home. 

In Paris, Illinois homeowner Dale C. wanted his crawl space sealed and turned into a place he could use for extra storage in his home. Like most homeowners with crawl spaces, he doesn’t have a basement or any extra room in his home to store family keepsakes safely. We sent our foreman Juan and his team out to the home to install a solution to fit his home. They installed our patented items such as CleanSpace liner, SmartSump, and IceGuard. With all of these items working together, his crawl space will be a clean dry area beneath his home where he will be able to store items without concern.

Many crawlspaces are left unsealed and unprotected from the outside air. This outside air can enter the crawlspace and bring with it hot, humid air in the summer and cold air in the winter. This outside air can decrease the comfort of the home by fighting against the conditioned air inside, and can decrease the home's energy efficiency. The moisture in the air can also increase the rate at which wood in the crawlspace rots and can support mold growth throughout the entire home.

To protect the home against such threats, it is important to encapsulate the crawlspace. By incapsulating the area with a liner such as CleanSpace™, outside air, as well as water and water vapor, is blocked from entering the home. This will ensure the home stays safe and healthy. But, while CleanSpace™ can seal off the space, if the crawlspace has an exterior door, then that door could still be an access point for unconditioned and unwanted outside air to enter the crawlspace.

That's why technician Dwayne M. installed an air-tight and sealable door to the crawlspace. This door will block unwanted outside air and help keep the protected inside air in. Just a simple, sealable door like this will help improve the home's energy efficiency by blocking unconditioned and uncomfortable outside air from entering the home. 

This crawlspace is healthier now, thanks to a sealed door that blocks the outside elements. Once the space gets incapsulated, the entire home will enjoy the benefits of comfortable air and an increase in energy efficiency. 

Marc E. of Paris, Illinois noticed that a few of his home's walls were bowing and cracking. He did not want the problem to get any worse or cause safety concerns, so he called Woods Basement Systems for assistance.

Design specialist Kevin E. assessed the problem and decided the best option was to install wall anchors. Foreman Jeremy R. then headed to the home to get the job started.

Wall anchors extend from the inside of the basement walls to the hard packed soil outside. The steel anchors help stabilize and prevent any further movement of the walls.

Marc E. no longer has to worry about his home's walls cracking or bowing. He now has safe and stable basement walls.

Wayne P. of Paris, Illinois noticed that water was entering his home's basement every time it stormed. He did not want to have to keep cleaning up a mess, so he called Woods Basement Systems for help.

Design specialist Brenton K. assessed the situation and decided the best solution was to install a Waterguard drainage system. Foreman Ryan L. then headed to the home to get the job started. The Waterguard drainage system was installed above the footing of the basement. It collects and drains any water coming up from the ground before it reaches the surface of the basement. 

Wayne P. no longer has to worry about his home's basement flooding. He now has a dry and waterproof home.

Larry and Miriam S. of Paris, IL had water leaking into their crawlspace. The water would not drain, therefore mold and rotting wood began to form in the space. Woods Basement Systems had the perfect products to seal off the space and prevent water from getting in.

Woods installed CleanSpace to seal off the space and prevent water and moisture from getting in. A drainage matt was installed under the CleanSpace to drain away any unwanted water that may be standing in the crawlspace. Vent covers were also installed for additional sealing. These covers create an air tight seal and do not allow water or moisture into the crawlspace.

Woods also installed a SaniDry. The SaniDry system filters moisture out of the air and makes the crawlspace less humid. Controlling the humidity in the crawlspace is important to preventing mold. The less moisture, the harder it is for the mold to grow.

A sump pump was installed to evacuate unwanted water. The sump pump will pump the water out through a discharge line that leads the water to the yard. This line can become clogged or frozen at times, in order to prevent the water from receding back into the crawlspace, Woods installed IceGuard. IceGuard is installed on the discharge line next to the house and allows water to escape through it when it is necessary. 

Paris, Illinois homeowners Warren and Kathy K. were troubled when water leaked into their basement where the floor meets the wall. The water posed a risk for mold and rotting. Fortunately, system design specialist Kevin E. designed a solution to combat the leaking water.

WaterGuard and TripleSafe were installed to keep their basement dry. WaterGuard is a perimeter drainage system that guides water to the TripleSafe sump pump system. The TripleSafe system is equipped with three pumps to ensure water will always be pumped out.
