Support beams were failing in a basement in Mount Auburn, IL, causing the floors in the house to sag. To solve this issue, the SmartJack System was installed. This will stabilize the beams and floor joists in the basement and lift the floor above it back toward its original elevation. Floor bounce caused by weakened joists or excessive spans will also be reduced. This basement will now remain stable and restore peace of mind for years to come!
In Illiopolis, Illinois homeowner Rosella Y. was concerned about the leak that began in her basement after a storm. She had never dealt with a leaking basement and had never had problems in the past after any storms or severe weather. Lost and unsure, Rosella called Woods Basement Systems to help find a solution to keep her basement dry during all times of the year.
Our foremen Tyler Sears and his team were sent out to the Saint Louis home to install the perfect solution to Rosellla’s problem. As waterproofing experts, we have several products to be installed to totally waterproof your home once and for all. In Rosella’s home we installed our WaterGuard system as well as our IceGuard. With these items in her basement, she will not have to worry about rainwater entering her home.
Belle Rive, Illinois resident Richard's basement suffered water seepage from cracks in the brick foundation. This water seeapge caused mold to thrive, created a musty environement, and risked damaging his belongings. Richard tried at home solutions to collect the water but failed.
As part of his waterproofing system, the TripleSafe sump pump system was installed. TripleSafe is equipped with a main pump, backup pump, and battery-powered pump to ensure the basement stays dry all the time. It is also sealed to prevent moisture from escaping into the basement.
Richard of Belle Rive, Illinois discovered several cracks in his brick foundation. A Woods Basement Systems System Design Specialist concluded that the cracks were a result of bowing walls. Increased water pressure in the soil caused the walls to bow in and crack.
Geo-Lock Wall Anchors were installed to restore the walls to their original position and provide permanent support. To give the basement a finished look, Wall covers were installed over the anchors.
Many basements experience water leakage where the wall meets the floor. That's because water can build up beneath the house by the footing. This water eventually seeps in through the gap between the wall and the floor.
Basement walls can also leak through gaps and cracks, adding to the water seeping into the basement. Block walls often face this problem, as water permeates the many cracks between the blocks.
One waterproofing system is specifically designed to handle water soaking through those places. The system is called WaterGuard™. WaterGuard™ is installed on top of the foundation, beneath the floor - where it will catch water before it rises above the floor - and against the wall, where it will catch water that drips down the cracks of the wall.
All this water is directed away from the basement and into the sump pump system where it will be pumped out of the home. With WaterGuard™ installed in the perfect spot, water leaks through the floor or through the wall are handled together.
