A crawlspace in Saint Louis, Missouri, needed some stabilizing to correct signs of foundation settlement. Woods came out and installed the SmartJack System to address this. This system consists of custom-cut steel beams. They are placed in galvanized fill to equally distribute the weight of the building. They can be tightened over time. This allows maintenance to be done as the ground continues to shift without requiring another costly install. With this installation in place, this home will be stable for many years to come.
The foundation of this St. Louis home had moved from its original location. Owners Dan and Carol called Woods Basement Systems to see what was going on and how to get this situation corrected. After sitting down with one of our system design specialist, they found that their old piers had been oxidised and needed to be replaced. There were also signs of water coming in over there footing and the owners wanted this corrected before it got worse. Therefore, Waterguard as well as new Push Piers were installed and now the house is saved. In addition to saving the home, the property values increased too.
Megan had just purchased her new home when she noticed water coming down from her basement walls. She hadn't noticed any cracks or water damage because the previous homeowner had plastered over the walls in an effort to hide the signs. Now left with the mess, she called Woods Basement Systems.
Clearly visible are the points on the wall, indicated by the customer with drawn-on arrows, where the water was coming in and making the plaster break and flake off. Foreman Tyler S. and his team installed WaterGuard under the floors to catch any and all water, CleanSpace to cover the walls and keep the basement dry, and GeoLock wall supports as a preventative measure to keep the foundation walls from bowing. The difference is quite clear!
Several of this St. Louis, Missouri home's basement walls were badly cracked and damaged due to years of outside soil pressure. The homeowner was concerned about the possibility of a total collapse, so she gave Woods Basement Systems a call. In order to reinforce the walls, several PowerBrace I-beam supports were installed. These supports are incredibly strong and prevent any further movement and cracking in the walls.
Homeowners Caroline and Dennis G. of Saint Louis, Missouri were worried about the foundation of their home. Over the past five years, they had been discovering cracks around their home. Unsure of where they were stemming from, they decided to call Woods Basement Systems to see if they could discover the source of the problem. After the free estimate, our team was scheduled to come back out to the house to fix the foundation problem with our PushPier system.
PushPiers are made of steel, to permanently stabilize your home’s foundation. In many cases, this solution can also lift your home back toward level, closing cracks and improving the operation of doors and windows. This was the perfect solution for Caroline and Dennis’s home and they were happy about how the installation turned out.
