WaterGuard drains are used to collect pesky water leaks and direct them towards the basement sump pump. Previously this home didn't have any means of protection against water leaks, but now Team Woods protected the basement with WaterGuard drains.
Homeowner Mike from Collinsville, Illinois wanted to waterproof his basement after years of experiencing water damage. Team Woods installed a WaterGuard drainage system into the footing of the basement to direct water leaks towards the basement sump pump.
Before, this basement had no means of protection against water leaks. Now with the help of Team Woods, a TwinPack sump pump was installed to pump out pesky water leaks. This two pumping system will be dependable year around because if one pump fails, the backup pump will switch on.
This Collinsville, Illinois home's basement was constantly experiencing water leaks during heavy periods of rain. The leaks were originating from cracks in the walls, and the homeowners were tired of dealing with constant cleanup. In order to waterproof the space, a Woods Basement Systems team installed WaterGuard. These gutter-like drains are placed under the flooring at the base of the leaking walls to catch any and all water before it makes it into the space itself.
This finished basement in Collinsville, IL. had carpeted living spaces that were unprotected from water leakage. Water often leaks into basements where the wall meets the floor as there is a tiny gap there from the construction of the home. The water levels beneath the home rise, causing the water to seap through the gap and spill out onto the basement floor. Without a perimeter drainage system, that would mean the water spills out onto the carpet, ruining the carpet and possible causing mold growth.
Rather than risk the expense of replacing the carpet and removing the mold, homeowner Kathleen S. hired Woods Basement Systems to install their special perimeter drainage system; WaterGuard™. WaterGuard™ is specially designed for maximum basement protection by not only blocking leaks that rise from below the floor, but also by catching leaks that come down the walls. WaterGuard™ is installed just beneath the floor, on top of the footing. From here, WaterGuard™ can collect water before it rises to the level of the floor without having to sit down in the mud next to the footing. This is important because that mud can easily clog waterproofing systems and cause them to fail. Since it is above the reach of the mud, WaterGuard™ won't clog.
Once WaterGuard™ is installed, the trench that is dug for it is refillied and re-covered. Then the floor can be replaced safely over top. The carpet in this room will be protected from flooding and even from leaks through the walls. Now Kathleen S. won't have to worry about moldy carpets caused by water leaking into the basement.
