A crawlspace in Harrisburg, Illinois, was in need of some foundation support. To remedy the situation, Woods came in and installed the SmartJack System. This system consists of custom-cut steel columns that are placed in a solid base of engineered fill. These beams will effectively add support for the home. Jaime E was concerned when she noticed that her basement walls were beginning to bow. So, she decided to call Woods Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Kevin E was able to come up with a solution to the problem.

Foreman Jeremy R Installed a Geo-Lock Wall Anchor in Jaime’s basement. The Wall Anchor has two ends, one will attach to stable soil away from the house and the other will attach to the basement wall. The device can be tightened and overtime will straighten the wall. 

Concrete-block foundation walls are particularly vulnerable to cracking and bowing because there are hundreds of seams and weak points throughout. It is important to address any damage as soon as possible, as it can spiral out of control quickly if left alone. Woods Basement Systems installed several PowerBrace supports in this Lincoln, Illinois basement to address the cracking and bowing concrete-block walls. These galvanized steel I-beams are incredibly strong and totally prevent any further movement and cracking. 

Keith W is worried about his foundation. The house is settling, separating the concrete blocks on the foundation and causing them to crack in a stairstep pattern. There are also cracks showing on the foundation outside the house.

A Woods Installation Crew installed Push Piers to permanently stabilize the foundation walls in the basement. These will also return the foundation to its original position, fixing the separating blocks. Keith can now relax knowing his foundation is stabilized!

Support posts were failing in a basement in Lincoln, IL, causing the floors above to sink. To solve this issue, the SmartJack System was installed.
