Bart and Cheryl V were concerned when they noticed that their basement walls were beginning to bow. So, they decided to call Woods Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Gregory B was able to come up with a solution to the problem.
Foreman Jeremy R installed a PowerBrace Assembly, shown above in Bart and Cheryl’s basement. The Geo-Lock Wall Anchor has two ends, one will attach to a stable level of soil away from the house. The other will attach to the basement wall, the device can also be tightened which will straighten the walls over time.
This White Heath, Illinois home's basement walls were in rough shape. Over the years, they had become riddled with cracks and had begun to bow inward, causing the owners to worry about a possible collapse. A Woods Basement Systems team supported the walls by installing several PowerBrace I-beams. These steel supports are incredibly strong and totally prevent further cracking and bowing.
Cracks in foundation walls can be a sign of external pressure from soil causing the walls to fail. The damage to the walls will get worse over time if not addressed. Chad and Amy C. of Neoga, IL had tried patching the cracks in their walls before but new ones would form so they called Woods Basement Systems. Woods recommended installing Geo-Lock Wall Anchors.
Geo-Lock Wall Anchors were installed along the cracked walls. They counteract the external soil pressure and permanently stabilize walls in place. They can straighten the walls over time, in most cases, by tightening the anchors during dry periods.
