Woods air sealed the attic first. Air exfiltration allows heated or cooled air to escape and be replaced but the warmer or cooler air outside which makes it harder to keep the home comfortable. Using an expanding polyurethane foam, every gap and hole around things like ductwork, windows, attic entrances, etc., were sealed to prevent air from escaping.

Woods then blew in TruSoft cellulose insulation to blanket the attic in a thick layer to the amount of insulation the Department of Energy recommends for Cheryl’s climate. Cellulose insulation is made from recycled newspaper material that has been treated with a borate solution that makes it fire and mold resistant and deters pests. Along with air sealing, this cellulose upgrade can cut energy bills up to 40%.

Cheryl W. can now enjoy the comfort of her master bedroom and is happy that her insulation upgrade will end up paying for itself by saving her money on energy bills.

WaterGuard is an interior drainage system that is situated on top of the footing so it will remain free of mud that might clog it as it collects water from the foundation walls and floors and drains it to the sump pump.

Woods replaced the old, burnt out sump pump with the TripleSafe to expel the water collected by the WaterGuard safely out and away from the basement through its discharge lines. The TripleSafe contains a primary, a secondary and a battery back up pump so it can offer protection from weather ranging from light showers to severe thunderstorms that cause power outages.

IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines on the exterior of the home. They prevent water from getting back into the basement if the lines become frozen by giving the water and alternative escape route through its slotted openings.

Woods replaced the small store-bought dehumidifier with the SaniDry dehumidifier. The SaniDry uses as much energy as the smaller store-bought unit but is far more powerful. It can remove up to 109 pints of water from basement air in a day. It keeps the relative humidity low in the basement to reduce musty smells and make conditions inhospitable for mold growth.

Foreman Greg H. installed both WaterGuard and TripleSafe to protect Derrick's basement from water. The WaterGuard is a perimeter drainage system designed to guide water to the TripleSafe sump pump system. With this duo, Derrick's basement will remain dry.

Daron and Robin B. in Florissant, MO had a dirty crawlspace that was improperly sealed, leading to moisture control issues. Daron and Robin were concerned about this causing mold and rotting wood. Woods Basements Systems came in and installed CleanSpace and a sump pump. The CleanSpace is used to seal the crawlspace from outside mositure and the sump pump is used to pump out any unwanted water that may get into the crawlspace.

To keep her basement dry all the time, Quinton W. and his team installed WaterGuard to guide water to the TripleSafe sump pump system they installed. Slab Piers provide an opportunity to lift the concrete slab back to its original position, oftentimes closing cracks and eliminating trip hazards.
