A crawlspace in Fairview Heights, IL, was struggling against the humidity, causing distress for the homeowner. To solve this issue, CleanSpace™ was used. This highly durable liner keeps outside elements and humidity out. With this system in place, the homeowner can rest assured that their crawlspace will remain dry for years to come!
Cobwebs, mold, high utility bills... oh my! These are problems that Woods Basement Systems finds time and again in dark, damp crawl spaces. Many homeowners do not regularly look inside their crawl space - what they find there might surprise them. But damp, moldy smells that penetrate the living space above can be a sign that moisture and water is present, creating a perfect environment for mold and mildew to grow.
CleanSpace helps to control all of these problems... oh yes! Woods Basement Systems is part of the International network of crawl space repair experts, through the Basement Systems, Inc. network of dealers. As such, they have access to the award-winning CleanSpace Vapor Barrier - a 20-mil 7-ply sandwich of high and low-density polyethylene with polyester-cord reinforcement, treated with an antimicrobial finish that protects against mold and mildew growth. This liner significantly outperforms thin and easy-to-tear 6 mil liners that are more common. You can rest assured that with a CleanSpace vapor barrier installed, mold and cobwebs will not be growing down there anymore!
Jeffrey and Maureen M., Belleville, Illinois homeowners, were distraught by their musty, moldy crawlspace. The wet crawlspace, crawling with mold, risked damage to the wooden support.
Pete N., system design specialist, designed a solution to keep the crawlspace dry and mold-free. CleanSpace was installed by foreman James L. CleanSpace is an inorganic vapor barrier, so it does not support mold. Jeffrey and Maureen are pleased to have a dry, mold-free crawlspace.
Homeowner, Kellen W. of Belleville, IL noticed a musty smell along with uneven floors in her crawl space. She did not know for sure why this was occurring so she gave Woods Basement Systems a call. Our system design specialist Nolan M. headed out to Belleville to do an inspection on the home and create a design that would resolve the issue. During the inspection, he discovered that the smell and uneven floors were due to standing water in the crawlspace of her home.
Foreman, Joshua B. did a CleanSpace encapsulation system installation. Many homeowners do not know exactly what is going on in their crawlspace. The air in the crawlspace is damp. If there is mold growing, it causes the dust and dirt to travel in the upper level of the home. The CleanSpace crawlspace encapsulation system prevents water from leaking which reduces moisture and prevent mold. With this system, the air of Kellen W. home is safe and allergen-free.
Kellen W. of Belleville, Illinois discovered that his home's crawl space was holding water. He knew that standing water could cause mold growth and rotting, and there was already a musty smell in his home because of it. He decided to call Woods Basement Systems for assistance.
Design specialist Nolan M. assessed the situation and decided that the best solution was to install a CleanSpace encapsulation system, a SmartPipe drainage system, a SmartSump sump pump, and a Sanidry Sedona dehumidifier. Foreman Joshua B. then traveled to the home to get the job started.
The CleanSpace encapsulation system, pictured above, is a durable liner that is placed on the floor and up the walls of the crawl space. It acts as a vapor barrier and completely seals the crawl space from the ground below.
Kellen W. no longer has to worry about water coming up from the ground and flooding his home's crawl space. He now has a dry and waterproof crawl space.
