A sinking foundation can be disastrous to a home’s safety. That’s why Suzanne M called Woods Basement System. System Design Specialist Nolan M was able to come up with a solution to the problem.

Foreman Jose L installed a Push Pier underneath Suzanne’s home. The Push Pier works by being driven into a stable level soil, and will support the section of the home that is sinking. It will even be able to raise the level of the home overtime.

Foreman Juan M used the PolyLevel to even out the concrete at William’s house. The PolyLevel is injected into the ground and will raise the level of sinking concrete. The process leaves behind only a dime sized hole.

Gary F. of Chesterfield, MO had a retaining wall that had seen better days. It was bowing inward and cracking under all the pressure from soil on the other side of it. It supported Gary’s deck so he was worried that if it failed, he’d end up having to replace both the wall and the deck so he called Woods Basement Systems for a free assessment. Design Specialist John S. inspected the wall and found Geo-Lock Wall Anchors would be the best solution.

Geo-Lock Wall Anchors were installed along the bowing, cracked wall. They counteract soil pressure by embedded earth anchors in stable soil conditions in the yard and connecting them to steel wall plates on the inside of the wall with galvanized steel anchor rods. The wall is permanently stabilized in place and can be straightened over time by tightening the wall anchors during dry periods. In Gary’s case, the retaining wall was straightened immediately be excavating the earth on the outside of the wall then tightening the anchors to straighten the wall and replacing the soil and sod over the excavation site.

Gary is relieved that his retaining wall is stable and secure and his porch is safe. 

Walt and Virginia M.’s rental property in Chesterfield, MO had an uneven patio. It posed a major tripping hazard. PolyLevel is an expanding polymer foam that was injected underneath the patio. It fills any voids caused by erosion underneath the concrete slabs and lifts and levels the concrete as it expands. There is less downtime than traditional mudjacking: the concrete can be used again in about 15 minutes. It’s also waterproof so it won’t be washed away, making it a more permanent solution than mudjacking.

Crawl Space Flooding

This week Irene had her crawlspace flooded with water and needed it the water gone as soon as possible.  She also wanted to stop the water flow at its source. The problem was that water was coming in from under the home and getting in through footers and flooding the entire basement.  In turn, this water made it damp and humid, which is the perfect environment for mold to colonize.  Woods Basement Systems came out to evaluate her concerns and see how they could correct the situation. Irene purchased the SmartPump System, the SmartPipe System, the SaniDry XP System as well as the CleanSpace wall coverings to insure that everything would be fixed the proper way once and for all. With all of these systems working together, there was no way water was going to be a concern for her anymore.  The SumpPump would get the water out and the SmartPipe would catch any water coming through the dirt floor.

Now production had to begin, first a hole was dug out and the SmartPump System was placed inside and turned up so that all the water in the basement was pumped out.  Originally the water collected all around the basement, not a trench was dug where the SmartPipe would lie in order to catch any water coming through the dirt floor.  All exteriors lines for the SmartPump were then connected and lead outside of the home. Now that the two main systems where placed and ready to go, the CleanSpace wall covering was placed over the top floor which made it brighter and waterproof.
