One thing to notice is that there isn't the usual cracks or water damage left behind from water entering the basement. This situation in particular was due to the plants planted right next to the home. When plants are planted too close, they store more water, which expands the soil. When the soil expands, pressure is placed on the basement walls which usually causes cracks to develop. Through these cracks water has an easy entrance into the basement. Although no cracks are visual to the eye outside, there are visual cracks inside.
