Outside the Home
By the looks of the outside, you wouldn't think any damage lies within the home.
Exterior View
One thing to notice is that there isn't the usual cracks or water damage left behind from water entering the basement. This situation in particular was due to the plants planted right next to the home. When plants are planted too close, they store more water, which expands the soil. When the soil expands, pressure is placed on the basement walls which usually causes cracks to develop. Through these cracks water has an easy entrance into the basement. Although no cracks are visual to the eye outside, there are visual cracks inside.
Storage Space
Many homeowners use their basement as a storage space. Here you can see that this basement held very important equipment and possessions. When water enters this basement all that you see if at risk of damage!

Preparing for WaterGuard
In another section of the basement, pictured was a common area where the homeowner and his family would spend most of their time. It was important to them to fix this water issue so that they could again utilize this space.
Preparing for Waterproofing
If you look closely, around the perimeter of the basement, you can see that the lower half of the wall is ready for the installation of WaterGuard. This product will help direct water that enters straight to the sump pump.
Mold on Wood
Around the footing on the other side of the basement you can see that behind the wood, mold has developed. This, of course, will have to be replaced with clean, supportive wood.
More Mold
The last image wasn't the only area that mold was behind the wood! The foreman found that when they looked at the other wood planks, there was also mold.
Footing Patch
Once the area that most of the water leakage was found, Team Woods was able to patch the spot to stop water from entering the open space.
Landscape Outlet
Here, a landscape outlet was installed to the end of the sump pump's discharge line. This outlet is green so that it blends in with the lawn. This product is also in the ground so that it does not create a tripping hazard.
