Plastic crawl space vapor barriers may block a lot of moister vapor from the dirt but it vents most of it at the perimeter where the plastic cover is open nearest the wall.  Over time, this causes the wood floor joist and sill plate at the perimeter to rot, commonly called dry rot.  This is due to the seasonal temperature changes and the abundant moisture released from beneath the plastic cover condensing on the wood, then drying, getting absorbed again, then drying, and getting wet another day, then drying...  Our CleanSpace® encapsulation system, like the one installed in this Murphysboro, Illinois crawl space, STOPS this problem, helps reduce radon levels, control mold and bugs, and lower energy costs.

The temperature in this O'Fallon crawl space was 71 degrees, but the humidity level was over 80.  This high level of humidity caused mold to grow rapidly, and wood rot was affecting the floor joist and sub-flooring. A crawlspace in Walshville, Illinois, needed to be sealed. It was leaking humid air up into the home, while also letting heat escape as well. Woods came in and installed the CleanSpace System to encapsulate the area. This system consists of a highly durable sheet of material that is placed directly on the walls and ground of the crawlspace. Not only does this help with the humidity, but this seal will also protect the crawlspace from rot, insects, and the outside elements. CleanSpace also brightens up the crawlspace, reflecting any available light back inward. With this installation in place, this crawlspace will be sealed for decades into the future.

A concrete sidewalk was settling in Pocahontas, IL, causing the slabs to sink and crack. To solve these issues, the PolyLevel System was installed. This will stabilize, lift, and level the concrete slabs with high-strength polyurethane foam. Pea-sized holes were drilled into the concrete and the foam was injected to fill the void underneath. This installation technique allows the foam to expand as it cures, precisely lifting the slab back up. Additionally, NexusPro Joint Sealant was installed. This will seal the joints and cracks in the concrete. It will provide long-lasting flexibility and stand up to harsh weather conditions.
