Laurie and Kirk R were concerned about the damp walls and musty smells in their basement. So they decided to call Woods Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Nolan M was able to come up with a solution to the problem.
Foreman Jose L installed CleanSpace Drainage Matting, shown above, in Laurie and Kirk's basement. CleanSpace is a thick liner that will keep excess moisture from getting into the basement and making it damp.
This Springfield, Illinois homeowner was having issues with water coming in from behind some wooden paneling in his basement. Because he used the space as a work area, the constant leaks were a big problem for him. A Woods Basement Systems team, after cutting away parts of the paneling, installed under-floor WaterGuard drains at the base of the leaking walls to catch any and all leaks.
This Springfield, Illinois driveway was badly cracked and sunken after years of wear and tear. Because it was unsightly and unsafe, the homeowner was looking to have it repaired. In order to lift the slabs and fill the cracks, a Woods Basement Systems team injected PolyLevel, an expanding composite foam, underneath the the driveway. Because PolyLevel is quick-drying, the driveway was ready to be driven and walked on in under 30 minutes!
There are several things that can be done outside to help protect the basement from leaks and floods. The most obvious of these things is to make sure the ground pitches away from the home, forcing water to flow away from the house rather than against it.
Another option is to extend rain gutters and downspouts. This will collect the water and direct it further from the home. This was done for Sharon T. in Springfield, IL. as an extra measure to keep water away from the home's foundation.
Michael B. was able to install an underground line that connected to the downspout and carried water further away from the home. When he was done installing the pipe, he replaced the turf to hide the line from sight. Now the home has that extra layer of water protection outside without ugly pipes and extensions sitting on top of the yard.
A homeowner in Springfield, IL wanted a moisture barrier for the crawlspace, so the CleanSpace Encapsulation System was installed. This liner completely isolated the crawlspace from the earth, so no moisture, dirt, or debris can enter. This will also dramatically reduce the humidity level, eliminating mold growth and rot from the crawlspace, therefore, making the whole house healthier. This crawlspace will remain clean and dry for years to come!
