A home in Webster Groves, Missouri, had some foundation issues that needed to be addressed. Cracks were starting to appear in the interior walls of the home. These cracks are indicative of a moving foundation and will only continue to get worse if the foundation issues are allowed to continue. Woods came out and installed the PowerBrace System. This system consists of zinc-plated steel beams custom fit to the basement height. They are secured to the wall and floor, and then anchored to the support beams that hold up the floor. These beams can be tightened over time, allowing for adjustments to prevent wall failure. Woods also installed a system called the GeoLock Wall Anchor System in a different part of the home for some increased stability. In this system, heavy duty steel anchors are buried some ways away from the home and connected to the home using steel rods. These rods are then attached to steel wall plates that are placed directly on the wall. As the rods are tightened, they pull the wall back into place. With these two systems in place, the home will be stable for many years to come.
