Foundation Repair Photo Album: Wall Anchoring Repair Columbia IL

This Columbia IL homeowner noticed new basement cracks along the rear wall of their ranch home that was inward and displaced. To stop the inward movement we installed foundation wall anchoring plates.  The interior steel plates are mechanically attached with a high-density galvanized rod to a duel cross plate configuration outside.  The wall anchoring systems may be distanced further away from the basement wall to avoid above-ground pools or in this case the concrete patio.  However, if this was not repaired in a timely fashion, over time as the basement wall continued to be forced inward by the soil condition, to stabilize vertically the basement wall a section of the ground just outside the basement wall would need to be excavated.  Landscaping, Decks, or in this case a patio slab would need to be removed prior to the dig out at an additional cost.  For this job, that extra cost was not necessary.
