Bowing Wall Causes
A bowing wall is likely due to hydrostatic pressure. Groundwater surrounding your home causes this pressure.
Earth Anchors Installed
Outside your foundation wall, galvanized earth anchors are embedded in stable, undisturbed soil. The anchors are connected by a steel rod to a wall plate that applies pressure against the inside of the foundation wall.

Stair Step Cracks
In a block foundation, stair-step cracks are typically caused by bowing walls. They are usually found near the corners of the foundation and commonly occur with a horizontal crack.

The wall plate was installed inside the basement. A steel rod is extending out into the earth on the outside and connecting to the earth anchors shown in the previous photos.
