Foundation Repair Photo Album: Encapsulating and Lifting a Crawl Space in White Hall, IL
Homeowners Shari and David A. of White Hall, Illinois had problems in their crawl space. The crawl space was unsealed without a stable support system. They called Woods Basement Systems to see if we had a solution to keep the crawl space dry, while keeping the floor above safe and stable.
After a free estimate from one of our system design specialists, Shari and David were ready to have their crawl space sealed and waterproofed. Foreman Chris S. and his team encapsulated the space using our CleanSpace liner. To solve the foundation issues, we installed SmartJacks in place of the existing foundation support. Once installation was complete, the couple was happy knowing their crawl space was dry and stable.
SmartJacks
The SmartJack system permanently lifts and stabilizes existing beams and floor joists in your crawl space.
CleanSpace Liner
To encapsulate the crawl space, our CleanSpace liner was installed over the floors and walls of the space.
How SmartJacks Work
A solid base of engineered fill addresses the problem of weak foundation soil by transferring the weight of the home to competent strata. Steel columns are secured to the beams or joists in the crawl space. Heavy-duty, threaded rods allow for adjustment and a custom fit for each SmartJack system installed.
Before
Before the crawl space was encapsulated, it was wet and damaged.
