Foundation Repair Photo Album: PushPier Support in Mattoon, IL
A home in Mattoon, Illinois owned by Tyler B. was having problems with foundation settlement. In the crawlspace, the support beams were concrete blocks stacked on top of eachother and the floor above was beginning to sink. The home was also covered in small and large cracks around weak points in the home, indicating an unstable support system. The homeowner noticed that his doors and windows were becoming harder to open and close as the years have gone on. More recently Tyler was thinking about putting his home on the market, and knew this was an issue that he would have to address before he could pass any inspections.
Tyler decided to call Woods Basement Systems because he had heard from a friend that they could fix the foundation of his home.
Our foreman Jose Lorenzana and his team made it out to the home to install our patented PushPier system. PushPiers are made of steel to permanently stabilize your home’s foundation. In many cases, the solution can also lift your home back toward level, closing cracks and improving the operation of doors and windows. This was exactly the solution that Tyler was looking for, and now he is able to sell his home with ease.
Support in Crawlspace
Many crawlspaces have support beams holding the floor above in place, in this crawlspace the support beams were a stack of concrete bricks holding the area together. This is an unstable support system for the home and crawlspace.

Installing PushPiers
The PushPiers are installed by removing the soil around the footing, where the PushPiers will be installed.
