Settling Corner of the Garage in Columbia IL
This is the corner view of the settling garage. We were able to save some of the landscaping by installing our push pier foundation repair system in the storage room under the garage floor
Top of the Crack
The home in Columbia starts at the octagon window and goes to the left. The garage goes to the right. The settling foundation crack showing up in the brick work is almost at the junction between these 2 portions of the structure.
The Top Part of the Crack
Notice how large the settling foundation crack appears to be at the top.
Settling Crack Stopping
This is close to where the settling foundation crack stopped on this Columbia IL home. Note how small the crack appears at the bottom. Settling foundation cracks open more at the top of the crack and shrink in size as it gets closer to the bottom of the basement foundation wall.
One finished Pier
This is one of the finished push piers in the storage area under the garage in Columbia IL.
Steel tubing of the Push Pier
The hydraulic ram forces the galvanized steel tubing down through the earth in sections until it reach load bearing capacity. The bypass in the hydraulic flow lines will not let the push pier system to "jar" the home while the piers are being driven.
Extended Ram
See the length increase from the ram head connected to the top of the silver pier tube to the top of the hydraulic cylinder drive head in red.
Ready for the Next Push Pier Tube
Once a section of galvanized steel tubing is in place the ram is withdrawn making room for the next section of the push pier tubing. Each section of tubing is load tested as it is being installed and the PSI reading from the hydraulic pump is recorded.
