Troubled Foundation
When entering into this Freeburg, Illinois basement, you may notice the cracks and the overall movement of the walls. These cracks and movement indicate that the foundation is experiencing settlement.
Bowing Walls
Some of the cracks were so severe that if left untreated, this wall could be in serious danger. This wall pictured was beginning to bow and break due to the pressure of the settling house.
Storage Space
This basement was utilized as an extra storage space, so the homeowner wanted to ensure that the area was safe and healthy. To solve this issue, Team Woods would have to install heavy duty products that could resecure the failing walls.
Geo-Lock Anchors
Once Team Woods waterproofed the space, the next step was to secure the foundation. The plates on the walls are called Geo-Lock wall anchors. These anchors are installed outside of the basement and are anchored inside to pull the wall into a stable position.
Anchoring System
What makes this system unique is that they are a permanent solution to resecure a shaky foundation. If needed they can be tightened or loosened upon the homeowner's request.
PowerBrace Beams
The other foundation stabilizing product used is called a PowerBrace beam. These beams are installed in the ceiling and floor to strengthen and support the out of line walls.
