Nicholas, a homeowner from Washington, Missouri, knew it was time to repair his home's foundation after years of noticing cracks throughout his home. Water would leak into the basement of the house during heavy rains and this later affected the foundation of the home. When the structure of a home moves and settles, this is when foundation cracks develop. To solve this deep-rooted issue, Team Woods sent out a system design specialist, Jose L., who looked over the damages. He later recommended a permanent foundation repair product known as push piers to solve this issue.

Trouble for this homeowner was revealed through the unaligned doors in his home. This Washington, Missouri home was experiencing structural damages due to the home's settlement.

Cracked Floor

Many deep-set cracks were found throughout this home. The homeowner was very concerned over the escalated damage and reached out to Woods Basement Systems for a solution.

Exterior Cracking

Unfortunately, the inside of the home wasn't the only area of the house impacted. On the exterior of the home, cracks were also found. The homeowner tried to patch the cracks but patching the crack was only a temporary solution.

Water Damage

What could have caused this settlement? The exterior shows that water has had a history of leaking into the basement. Water can break down the walls and cause them to break, bow, or crumble. Because this home wasn't waterproofed, water had caused the settlement.

Trenches

To solve this settlement issue, Team Woods sent head foreman Jose L. out to the home to begin the foundation project. Jose along with his team dug up trenches around the house to install push piers.

Push Piers

Push piers are made out of sturdy galvanized steel, and these piers are "pushed" under the footing of the home. These strong push piers regain stability of the house by moving the weight of the home onto the piers.

Complete

To regain the stability and safe of this home, Team Woods installed several push piers in the footing of the house. The last step to finish this project is for the team to cover the push piers with dirt.
