Foundation Repair Photo Album: Ledge Walls Bowing In Kirkwood

This home had two additions at two different times, with one being the older brick foundation and then other a block wall foundation.  Both foundation types used a ledge wall method to try and stop inward basement foundation wall movement.  One failed and shifted the wood framing of the doorway causing a bowing and the older brick ledge settled as show by the stair stepping crack in the vertical brick basement wall.  Determining the correct cause of the basement foundation failure is important so that wall anchoring repair is used on one problem and foundation settling repair on the other.  Plus, the wood support/framing resting on top  of the basement floor showed severe signs of a wet basement problem too.
