O'Fallon, IL Wall Anchor System Job
Challenge
Evidence of bowing and cracking walls was found in an older home in downtown O'Fallon, IL, and homeowner Ken H. was concerned that the walls would fall if nothing was done. In the middle of May, he contacted Woods Basement System, Inc. of Collinsville, IL, and the company sent their System Design Specialist, Daniel, to survey Ken's property and diagnose the problem.
After inspecting the damage, Daniel found staircase cracking along two of Ken's basement walls as well as proof that the walls were bowing inward. The solution he determined for Ken's basement was Geo-Lock Wall Anchors, believing the anchors would help stabilize and gradually realign the walls, eliminating the threat of future wall failure.
Solution
Once it was confirmed that the Geo-Lock Wall Anchor system was the best solution for Ken's wall failure, Woods Basement Systems, Inc. assigned the project to one of their foremen, Todd; the production of the project started on June 04, 2015 and was finalized by midday, June 05, 2015. Todd and his crew drilled 13 deep holes into Ken's backyard and side yard and marked the two bowing walls to prepare for the installation of the Geo-Lock Wall Anchor system. For the next day and a half, Todd and his team installed 13 units of wall anchors and locked them in place, guaranteeing Ken that the Geo-Lock Wall Anchors will solve Ken's wall failure problem and will realign the walls to their original position. After everything was tightened and secured, Todd and his team refilled the holes they created and covered them up with sod.
Satisfied, Ken called later and felt there was no need for Todd and his crew to return.
