Total Basement Waterproofing in Kirkwood, MO
Challenge
Debbie and James are homeowners living in Kirkwood, MO. They started to notice cracks forming around their house and water damage in the basement due to the cracks. They decided to have a Specialist from Woods Basement Systems come out to try and figure out what was wrong with their house and how they could fix it.
System Design Specialist Richard Obermeier informed the couple that their house was settling. The soil that the house was built on top of wasn't as strong as it used to be and this was why cracks were forming. As these cracks formed, water was able to seep through and leak onto the basement floor. Richard also mentioned the best way to make sure their basement stays dry would be to get a full waterproofing system to avoid increased water damage.
Solution
To secure James and Debbie's house, the Push Pier System was installed. The rugged steel tube sections were hydraulically driven of competent load-bearing strata. This system increased the homeowner's property value, permanently stabilized the home's foundation, and warranted that their foundation wouldn't settle any further. A material was also installed over the existing cracks as a sealant to stop existing leakage.
WaterGuard was installed around the edge of the basement walls. This system is a non-clogging alternative to other piping systems. A WaterGuard Port was also installed to monitor how the system was performing. The WaterGuard was then setup to lead to the Twin Pack Sump Pump which pumps the water through the IceGuard and out the LawnScape.
The IceGuard System allows water to escape from sump pump discharge line if the pipe freezes or becomes blocked for any reason. A PVC pipe was then buried and directed from the IceGuard to the LawnScape outlet. Now water is directed through all these systems are leaves James and Debbie's home dry.
