Wall Anchors in Decatur, IL
Challenge
A Decatur, IL resident had been having problems with her basement walls cracking and slightly bowing. She knew the problem would only get worse with time, so she decided to fix it while it was still small. The resident planned to finish the basement someday, so the first step was to get the walls stabilized. When access is available outside of the home, the Geo-Lock Wall Anchor System is the best option to fix bowing and cracking walls.
Solution
Woods Basement Systems installed wall anchors along the outside of the basement walls. Heavy-duty, galvanized steel anchors are embedded into the soil out and away from the foundation wall. They are then connected to steel wall plates on the interior of the foundation walls with galvanized steel rods. The wall anchors hold the walls in their current position and even have the ability to be tightened over time, allowing for improving and straightening of the wall over time. Wall anchors have been proven to be an effective and economical repair solution. They have a quick installation time compared to other systems, and there is minimal disturbance from the installation. The resident was happy with the work done by Woods and was relived to know the problem was solved once and for all.
