Geo-Lock™ Wall Anchor System Restores Earth Home — Wright City, MO
Challenge
It was mid November when I made my first visit to the property in Wright City. The home owner was living and working in Texas and planned to retire in Missouri. The structure was an earth home approximately 50 years old and was in need of much repair, especially the foundation. At the time of my initial visit the rear foundation wall was broken in several places and tilted in approximately 7 inches at the top. The wall had been previously repaired by utilizing a 16'x2' steel plate secured by 2 anchor rods and it was failing.
Solution
The solution was to excavate the wall, install 8 Geo-lock Wall anchors to pull the wall back to vertical and stabilize it from future lateral movement. The home owner also wanted to prevent water leakage so the installation of our Sentry Seal membrane on the outside of the wall and crack injection from the inside was the perfect solution. The home owner elected to excavate the wall himself to help defer some of the cost and planned to install exterior draintile upon completion. Upon excavation and removal of the previously installed anchors the wall moved another 3". With the site prepared our expert crew went to work installing the anchors, pulling the wall back to vertical and restoring integrity.
The next step was to thoroughly clean the exterior of the wall, install the Sentry Seal 60 mil waterproofing membrane and finally inject the cracks from the inside. With the wall restored to it's vertical position, stabilized and waterproofed the home owner is able to remodel the home with peace of mind knowing that the repairs are backed by a fully transferable life of structure warranty. Upon completion of the project I made another visit and found that the home owner was quite pleased with the work of our crew and will be happy to refer us to anyone that can benefit from the many services we offer.
