Support beams were failing in a basement in Nashville, IL, as they were shifting and causing the floor above to sink. To solve this issue, the SmartJack System was installed. These steel support systems can permanently stabilize and level the floor joists and girders in the basement. They are unaffected by moisture, as they will not rust, weaken, or be affected by mold. These will lift the floors above back toward their original position, reduce floor “bounce” caused by excessive joist spans, and solve the problem once and for all!

Homeowners Sarah and Samuel P. of Cambria, Illinois wanted a solution for their unstable deck support system. Before, the support beams were lopsided, holding the deck up with wooden beams. Support blocks were falling apart in a Vienna, IL crawlspace, causing the floor joists to fall. To solve this issue, the SmartJack System was installed. This will stabilize the beams and floor joists in the crawlspace and lift the floor above it back toward its original elevation. Floor bounce caused by weakened joists or excessive spans will also be reduced. This crawlspace will now remain supported and stable for years to come!

Diagonal wall cracks are a sign of inward movement of the basement wall.  Damage to the finished interior wall is another sign of a problem.  We stabilized and stopped this inward bowing by installing Foundation SupportWorks® Goe-Lock™ wall anchors.  This system includes an interior wall plate attached to an exterior double wall anchor plate via a "hot dipped" galvanized rod.  Pinning the wall back by anchoring it to dense stable soils more than 9 feet away from the bowing wall is an efficient and effective way to solve bowing walls.
