Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Waterproofing a Damp Crawlspace in Champaign, IL
A crawlspace liner was failing in Champaign, IL, as moisture was seeping into it and causing mold to grow. To solve this issue, the CleanSpace Encapsulation System was first installed. This will isolate the crawlspace from the ground. It also controls water, humidity, outside air infiltration, and heat loss. The white finish will brighten the crawlspace and make it easier to see inside. Additionally, a SaniDry Sedona was installed. This efficient, high-capacity, dehumidification system also includes an air filtration system, all in a single unit. This system wrings the air dry, and its powerful blower moves the dry air in and around the area.
The crawlspace was also big enough to fit a TripleSafe Sump Pump System, which was also installed. This system can handle a heavy flow of water, thanks to a secondary pump included inside that will help eliminate the water if the first pump is unable to keep up with the amount of water that is entering it. It also features a removable airtight lid that reduces noise, prevents objects from falling in, and keeps moisture, insects, and odor from coming out of the sump.
Next, the IceGuard Sump Pump Discharge System was installed. The patented design of this system automatically allows water to escape through its perforations when pipe terminations are blocked, usually by ice or snow. Lastly, a LawnScape Outlet was installed. This connects the discharge lines to a special extension sending water away from the foundation while camouflaging the end of the pipe. Thanks to these systems, this crawlspace will stay dry all the time!
