Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Dirt Crawl Space Encapsulated in Marshall, Illinois

Wanda S. noticed water leaking into the crawl space of her Marshall, IL home. She was concerned about the effect this leaking water would have on the partial basement area next to the crawl space, so she contacted Woods Basement Systems to evaluate it. Design specialist Greg B. determined a crawl space encapsulation system would be the best solution for Wanda's home. This included the SilverGlo wall insulation, CleanSpace vapor barrier, SmartSump sump pump, SmartPipe drainage system, and vent covers to properly seal off the crawl space. In this photo gallery, we show the crawl space before installations begun and highlight these products after installation.

SmartSump Installed

Along with the entire encapsulation system, Wanda elected to have the SmartSump sump pump, designed specifically for crawl spaces, installed. Now her crawl space is protected from future water leaks and she no longer has to worry about poor air quality in her home.

SaniDry™ Sedona™ Crawl Space Dehumidifier

A SaniDry Sedona was installed to keep moisture out of the air of the home.

After Encapsulation

A waterproofing system was installed including the SmartPipe around the interior perimeter and a SmartSump to collect unwanted water and pump it away from the home. Once the waterproofing system was installed, the SilverGlo wall insulation panels were attached to the walls and CleanSpace lined the entire area including the support posts. This crawl space is now completely encapsulated and insulated.

Before Encapsulation

This dirt crawl space was an uninsulated, debris-filled mess. Water leaks caused musty smells throughout the attached basement area and the rest of the home. There was even standing water in some areas.
