Stephen from Lincoln, Illinois called Woods Basement Systems to clean up and restore his water-damaged crawl space. System design specialist Jeremy H. was sent to the home to look over the crawl space to see what would protect and maintain the wet crawl space. The optimal solution was to install a CleanSpace vapor barrier system up the walls and over the floor to completely seal the area from harm. This album will show the condition of the crawl space before CleanSpace was installed and why this system was chosen.

Damage Outside

This home neglected his crawl space for years but didn't see the exterior damage until Team Woods came out to inspect the house.

Wet Crawl Space

Once inside the crawl space, the damage didn't stop. Team Woods ran into a flooded crawl space after a heavy rainstorm.

Flooded

Unfortunately, this crawl space had no means of protection against water leaks. Just look at how much water accumulated inside!

Vapor Barrier

This crawl space did have a vapor barrier system, but as you can see it didn't block out harmful outer elements like water, mold, and debris. This tarp is also made out of organic materials, meaning that it is susceptible to mold growth.

Mold & Mildew

This crawl space had accumulated so much water over time that it affected the quality of air throughout the entire house. Here you can see some of the mold and mildew that had developed inside the crawl space.

Under the Tarp

Once Team Woods lifted up the tarp, the team noticed water damage on the floor and walls. To completely seal this crawl space Team Woods would install a CleanSpacec encapsulation system.

CleanSpace System

A CleanSpace vapor barrier system will seal the crawl space from harmful outer elements that tend to seak into a crawl space. This system is made out of inorganic materials that will repeal these destructive elements.
