Trouble Inside
This homeowner noticed signs of water leaks on the outside of the crawl space by the stained walls. She made sure to give Woods Basement Systems a call to find a solution, and quick!
Dirty Crawl Space
Inside the crawl space, the area was dirty and full of grime. This crawl space was not protected against harmful outer elements.
No Barrier
The crawl space didn't have any means of protection against water leaks. Water had damaged the walls, and because the floor didn't contain a vapor barrier, the dirt floor would turn into mud.
Solution?
System design specialist, John S., worked with this homeowner to find a permanent way to clean up, waterproof, and protect this crawl space. John gave the recommendation of installing a CleanSpace vapor barrier system onto the walls and floor to seal the crawl space while also giving the space a fresh new look.
Drainage Matt
Before the CleanSpace vapor barrier system was installed, a drainage matt was established to collect water leaks that come through the ground and direct them towards the crawl space sump pump.
CleanSpace
A CleanSpace encapsulation system is made out of inorganic materials to prevent mold from developing and to block out water. This beautiful system is installed on the floor and walls to seal the crawl space from harmful outer elements.
Sump Pump
The CleanSpace barrier was installed around the home's sump pump system. The sump pump is used to pump out water leaks that seep inside.
Discharge Line
Outside, the discharge line that is attached to the sump pump was elongated to draw water away from the house. If this line is too close the house this can risk the water leaking back into the crawl space.
