Smelly Space
This homeowner noticed a musty smell in the upper levels of his home. This is due to the air in the crawl space containing moisture that over time will give the space a musty smell.
Torn Tarp
Although this crawl space did have a tarp covering the floor, this tarp wasn't sealing the crawl space from water damage because it was easily lifted and torn. Therefore the previous tarp was causing more harm than good!
Mold Development
Mold needs organic materials to grow, and because this tarp was organic, this created the perfect environment for mold to grow. Mold growth can be detrimental to the health of those living in the home and should be treated quickly before it grows.
Damp Ground
These images were taken right after a substantial rain storm. The current tarp wasn't able to seal the inside of the crawl space from becoming wet and musty - this sensitive area allowed in unwanted critters and debris. Team Woods recommended solving this issue by installing a CLeanSpace encapsulation system that would seal the space from water damage, mold development, and low-quality air.
Sump Pump Isn't Helpful
The previous sump pump wasn't able to keep up with the demand of water that would leak in after a massive rain storm. Along with the CleanSpace encapsulation system, Team Woods included a new SmartSump sump pump to replace the old, outdated sump.
