Scattered Debris
This Auburn, Illinois crawl space was far from a clean space! Debris from outside was able to make its way inside the lowest room in the home.
Water on Walls
Once inside the crawl space, Team Woods noticed a musty smell. After investigating the area, the team noticed wall water stains where the walls meet the floor.
Mold Developing
A team member moved the tarp to see how the soil was underneath. Once he looked below the tarp, he noticed that mold had started to develop because the current tarp was susceptible to mold growth.
Mold on Wood
The water that would leak in during heavy rains also impacted the wood supporting the crawl space. The team noticed mold had started to develop on the wood as well as the floor tarp. Mold is harmful to the health of the homeowners by impacting the air quality, and over time could lead to the wood rotting.
Vents Need Covered
The vent in the crawl space was one of the primary sources that allowed external elements into the crawl space.
CleanSpace for Repair
A CleanSpace encapsulation system is designed to serve as a vapor barrier to block out external elements like water leaks, debris, and critters. An encapsulation system will ensure that the crawl space will remain safe and dry for several more years to come!
