Window in the Crawl Space
The foreman that worked on this home took out the vent that blocked this window. The previous vent was not properly sealed, so the design specialist recommended installing our EverLast door to seal this opening.
View into the Crawl Space
When an opening to the outside isn't properly sealed, materials from the outside make their way inside. Here you can see that leaves were able to enter the crawl space because this window wasn't properly sealed.
Muddy Crawl Space
As you can see, this crawl space isn't encapsulated. One of the main issues with not having an encapsulation system is that usually the floors of the crawl space are dirt. When dirt floors are left uncovered, the floor isn't contained. This means that the dirt is able to move, shift, and turn into mud if water enters the space.
Water Stains
Usually the walls of an area that experiences water leakage will signal that water has been in a space due to the discolored appearance. It is no secret that this space has had its fair share of water!
Vapor Barrier
Although this space has a vapor barrier, this tarp doesn't completely seal the space. Tarp still allows water, critters, and mold to find a way to enter.
Wood Contains Mold
The wood that supports the crawl space had a coat of mold that covered the ceiling. This mold growth is not only damaging to the wood, but it also negatively affects the air quality.
Water Damage
Below the wood contains many different plumbing pipes for the home. Beyond the pipes you can see the staining that had developed because of water leaking into the crawl space.
Mold & Water Damage
Here is an overview of the mold and water stains that were found on the ceiling of the crawl space.
Overview of the Crawl Space
Lastly, this is an overview of the crawl space. This space before the installation process was in desperate need of CleanSpace and our EverLast door and access well.
