Basement Dehumidification in Decatur, IL

Challenge

A Decatur, IL resident was having problems with condensation in his basement.  He tried using a small household dehumidifier to dry the air, but it could not properly get the job done.  The condensation was beginning to form mold and was causing his entire home to smell.  He wanted to solve the problem and completely eliminate all of the condensation, therefore removing the mold and smell.

Solution

Woods Basement Systems installed a SaniDry XP in his basement to solve his condensation problems.  The SaniDry XP is a highly efficient dehumidification and air filtration system.  It can take up to 100 pints of water per day out of the basement air, while using the same amount of energy as a “40 pint” dehumidifier.  It also filters particles out of the air to less than two microns in size.

The SaniDry XP dries the air and has a powerful blower that moves the dry air out and into the basement area.  Dry air results in dry building materials and contents, which makes the damp feeling and smell disappear.  Woods also connected his SaniDry XP to the waterproofing drainage system in his basement, so the resident never had to worry about emptying the bucket. 

Household dehumidifiers cannot even compare to the SaniDry XP.  They are too small to get the job done and typically do not drain automatically, so the bucket constantly has to be emptied.  The resident was very pleased with the SaniDry XP and now enjoys a dry and mold-free basement.
