Sunken Back Porch
It was apparent to this homeowner that the concrete supporting the back porch was sinking. If you look at the cement footing of the home you can see how far the cement has lowered.
Front Porch View
This wasn't the end of sinking cement for this homeowner! Before you walk into the front of the house, the front porch has also lowered dramatically.
Sidewalk to the Front of the Home
Unfortunately, the sidewalk leading up to the home was also sinking and cracked. These cracks that you see pictured are dangerous trip hazards to anyone that tries to enter the home.
Sinking & Cracking
This photo has a lot going on. First, you can notice that the concrete slab in the driveway is far off from where the garage sits. You can also see cracks within the driveway slab and the dangerous hazard presented because of the uneven transition from the driveway to the sidewalk.
Close Up
Here is a better look at how far the concrete has sunk. Located on the footing of the home you can see the mark from where the stab initially was.
Driveway in Need of Support
Here is a better view at how far the concrete slab has sunk in the driveway. The sinking of the driveway has created a gap between the garage and the driveway. This enables an uneven transition for a vehicle entering the garage.
Driveway & Surrounding Areas
Not only has the porches, sidewalks, and garage slabs sunken over the years. But also, as you can see, on the other side of the driveway is another slab that this homeowner stores his trash bins. This slab shows how unleveled and saggy the cement has become with time.
