Concrete Leveling Project in Sappington, MO
Challenge
Steph B. of Sappington, Missouri, had a back patio that had uneven slabs, and grass growing up through the cracks in between them. She called Woods Basement Systems, where Systems Design Specialist Mike Tritch came out to design a solution based on Steph's needs. She needed those patio slabs lifted and leveled, and a compound in between them to prevent grass and weeds from growing through.
Solution
The best solution for Steph was to use the PolyLevel® injection foam and the Nexus® Pro surfacing compound. This would provide exactly for Steph's wants and needs.
Foreman Andrew Teter and his team came out to complete the project. The team cleared the area of the patio furniture and other obstructions, and removed the residue from in between the slabs.
The process began with drilling 5/8 inch holes in the slabs to prepare for the injection foam. The cement dust from the drilling would be kept for later. In each hole, injection ports were inserted for the PolyLevel® injection machine. The foam was carefully inserted into each hole, raising and leveling the slabs. After the slabs were checked and rechecked to ensure their uniformity, the team removed the ports from the holes. Fresh cement was mixed together, and the cement dust from the drilling was added to the compound to give the mixture a more similar color to the slabs. The holes were sealed with the fresh cement mixture.
Now that the slabs were raised and leveled, the area was ready for the Nexus® Pro surfacing compound. This compound was inserted between the slabs with a machine, and was applied uniformly using a special trowel.
The project was completed, and was ready for the patio furniture to be placed in less than 30 minutes.
