We were contacted by an owner of a duplex in Springfield, Illinois regarding the crawl space needing to be inspected. The ground was covered with a vapor barrier, but there was a funny smell emanating from the crawl space, which spread to the upstairs. Here are some photos showing how our team installed a vapor barrier that encapsulates the floor and walls and is sealed near the top to ensure no moisture can seep in.

Crawl Space Entrance

Most crawl space openings are this size. Enough space is allowed to get in between the floor joists.

New Floors
