Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Crawlspace Waterproofing with CleanSpace™
This crawlspace in Newton, IL. had a thin plastic vapor barrier to protect the home above from the hazards of a dirt crawlspace. But this thin plastic was not enough to properly protect the home. That's why homeowner Dan R. turned to the experts at Woods Basement Systems to install CleanSpace™ throughout the crawlspace.
CleanSpace™ is a tough, waterproof liner designed especially for crawlspaces. CleanSpace™ is made of a tear-proof material that will allow it to be permanently fastened in place while its anti-microbial layer will prevent mold growth across its surface. Once in place, CleanSpace™ will block water and water vapor from entering the home where they might otherwise cause damage. Instead, this water is directed to the sump pump so it can be removed from the home. In this home, a SmartSump™ was installed to deal with the water buildup.
Extending the Discharge Line
The discharge line was extended away from the foundation of the home.
SmartSump™
This sump pump features an air-tight liner that will prevent water from escaping the sump pit by evaporating. It also features a special floor drain to catch leaks inside the crawlspace and an alarm to alert homeowners to dangeroulsy high water levels.
Encapsulated Crawlspace
CleanSpace™ will protect the crawlspace from mold, pests and water vapor, including the walls and pillars that support the home.
Thin Plastic Liner
The previous waterproofing measure down here was a simple plastic sheet. This plastic sheet won't stop water and water vapor from seeping through the walls, rising up along the support posts and can do nothing to combat the spread of mold. CleanSpace™ will do all of these things once it replaces this plastic liner.
