Window Wells Lead to Flooding Basement
Water would rise in the window well and leak into the basement when the landscaping bed would fill with water during heavy rains in O'Fallon MO.

Limited drainage along the side of the home was the idea for putting in the landscaping bed to redirect water away from the home. However, it ended up holding water against the basement and leaking occurred through the window at the rear basement window well.

Draining at the Lowest Point
Once the lowest point within the landscaping bed was determined the digging began on the outside of this O'Fallon MO, home.
Drainage Point
Landscaping stones were removed in the same order they would be replaced. A "T" was installed to drain the flooding water out at the lowest point.
Piping and Trenching
A trench was dug inside the landscaping bed to drain water faster to the low point. Sleeved drain tile piping was used and river stone to fill the trench for proper drainage for this home.

The white running along the inside edge of the landscaping stone is the sleeve around the drain tile pipe used to drain water from this O'Fallon MO landscaping bed. This is the exact purpose of the sleeved drain tile. It is also used in farming for field drainage so the roots of young plants during the spring will grow deeper to find water and survive the summer time.
