When it came to protecting his basement from water damage, Charles B. of Florissant, MO. wanted the very best. Woods Basement Systems had just what he needed. WaterGuard™, a drainage system installed just under the floor, will direct any water leaks into the sump pump system to be removed from the home.
The first step in installing WaterGuard™ is to dig a trench alongside the wall. Once the trench is dug, WaterGuard™ is installed. WaterGuard™ sits on top of the footing and out of the mud. Since it isn't in the mud, it doesn't need filters which could otherwise clog and ruin the system's ability to drain water. WaterGuard™ carries the water to the sump pump system, a TripleSafe™ sump pump.
The TripleSafe™ sump pump system is a specially designed package that features three pumps in one sump liner. The liner will allow water to flow in without letting it seep back out. It also features an alarm system and floor drain that will alert homeowners if there's a leak from plumbing or another interior source. But most impressively, the TripleSafe™ boasts three individual pumps that can pump water out in incredibly high volumes and - because one of the pumps is battery operated - can even work when the power goes out.
With all the systems in place, the trench is filled with clean stone and concrete is replaced above it to create a smooth floor from wall to wall. Charles B. has a protected basement with WaterGuard™ and a TripleSafe™ sump pump system without unsightly trenches or cloggable filters.
Digging a Trench for WaterGuard™
A trench is dug along the wall and WaterGuard™ is inserted inside
WaterGuard™ Behind the Wall
The lower portion of drywall is removed so that WaterGuard™ can be installed. The drywall is replaced once the system is in.
Replacing the Concrete
Once the WaterGuard™ is installed, concrete is poured to refill the top of the trench and keep the basement looking good.
TripleSafe™ to Tie it Together
The WaterGuard™ system drains into the TripleSafe™ sump pump system so it can be safely expelled from the home.
