Severe Leakage
It's common to find water leaks around the basement window because if a window is not correctly installed, the unsealed area will allow water in. This homeowner tried to repair the cracks created by the leaks, but these repairs were only temporary.
Foundation Effected
This Carbondale, Illinois basement was no stranger to water leaks. Water had become so accustomed to the space that it had started to affect the foundation. Water can weaken and breakdown basement walls causing cracks and gaps.
Water in Center of Basement
After heavy rains water would pool in the middle of the basement. To prevent this, Team Woods installed WaterGuard drains into the footing of the basement walls to stop and collect the water leaks before it could seep into the center of the basement and create damage.
Lifted for Protection
Water damage was a serious concern for this homeowner, so she lifted her laundry machines off the floor. Along with the new WaterGuard drains, Team Woods would also install BrightWall panels onto the walls to prevent leaks from seeping in through the walls. These panels would also help by directing the leaks to the drains during heavy rains.
