Evidence of Water Leak
The entrance into the basement revealed that a significant water leak was present. Flooding and standing water was a reoccurring experience after heavy rains which pushed the homeowner to schedule an appointment with Woods Basement Systems.
Standing Water
As the homeowner entered the wet basement, he noticed that water would stand around the perimeter of the room. As you can see on the wall, water stains were formed from the previous water leaks the home experienced.
Muddy Floor
Along with water, dirt also made it's way into the basement creating a muddy, dirty basement floor.
Clean Up
To begin the installation process of waterproofing this basement, Team Woods vacuumed up the standing water and dried the humid, wet walls.
Sump Pump + Drains
To protect this basement from any more water damage, Team Woods would install a TripleSafe sump pump to pump out the water leaks along with WaterGuard drains to the perimeter of the basement. WaterGuard drains will help collect the water leaks and send them to the sump pump to be pumped out of the basement.
Protect Before Foundation Damage
Water damage is more destructive than just being unappealing to the eye. Water damage can weaken the structure of the walls causing them to bow, shift, or crack. Pictured you can see the beginning of the foundation cracking due to water leaks. To protect the home from foundation settlement, this waterproofing project was a necessity for the overall safety of the home.
