Side Wall with the Wide Footing
One side of the basement has a wider footing that can be seen once the basement floor is removed. We have several waterproofing products so we can customize the right solution for this situation and still provide our written transferable warranty.
Side Wall with the Narrow Footing
If one side was built with a wider footing then the opposite side of the basement will be narrow.
Diagram of the Wide and Narrow
With construction of wider footings for larger structures, the foundation walls may be a little off centered when poured. Typically because the footings are made even larger than needed to support the weight of the structure, being off centered make the interior waterproofing repair harder but the building is sound and stable.
WaterGUARD™ Waterproofing for a Wide Footing
The WaterGUARD™ is a specialized pipe to control water leaking into a basement from beneath the floor, at the footing and foundation wall seam, and from coming down on the inside of the basement wall from a wall crack. With a wide footing, FlowGUARD™ will be added to complete this waterproofing repair.
Custom FlowGUARD™
FlowGUARD™ is an additional waterproofing material we use to extend the WaterGUARD™ vertical drainage. It works perfectly with wide footings so the the wall leaks are properly drained and waterproofed.
WaterGUARD™ Going Under Interior Wall
Once the section of basement floor is removed, under the right conditions, WaterGUARD™ waterproofing can slide beneath the interior finished basement wall.
WaterGUARD™ Under a Wall
With the basement floor removed, and because of the special design of the WaterGUARD™, it can usually slip under an interior wall. The large hole is for the sump pump location.
Sump Pump Liners Are NOT All Alike
Our TripleSAFE™ sump pump liner is designed to hold 3 operating sump pumps. It is more kidney shaped than round to accommodate the extra space needed for 3 sump pumps. NOTE: see the wet spot on top of the footing, this is the water leaking into the basement from beneath the basement foundation wall.
2 of the 3 Sump Pumps
The two primary sump pumps are also installed on pump stands. The stands hold the pumps in place and elevates the pumps so they are out of some of the silt that may get into the sump pump. Also, one of the pumps is sit higher so it is delayed when starting its pumping to handle the larger amounts of seepage that occur from time to time.
Working in Tight Spaces
To do a full perimeter waterproofing system, we sometimes have to get into some "hard to reach" spaces. This is under the landing for the basement stairs. Just to the left wall of this photo, a couple of the steps to the stairs were removed to properly install the waterproofing system all the way around the basement.
