Some homes have exposed foundation footings in the basements. The footing is poored first to support the basement walls. Then last comes the basement floor. More modern homes have the basement floor poured covering the entire footing so that only the wall and floor are seen. With a raised footing, the concrete for the floor is poured at the grond level and comes into contact with the side or face of the footing leaving part of the footing exposed above the top of the basement floor. Additional steps and waterproofig products are needed to make sure that the whole basement will stay dry and dray all the time.

Drywall Removed

A certain section of all the drywall around the basement is removed to install a waterproofing system.

When a basement floor is poured up against the footing and parts of the top and side of the footing are left exposed, this is called a raised footing.

Prep for waterproofing

A small section of the basement floor is removed for the waterproofing system, WaterGUARD™. Plus additional products are required to waterproof the entire footing.
