Before Waterproofing
Drywall or in this case the paneling and carpet needed to be removed to begin the waterproofing installation.
Sump Pump Location and Trench Drain
Sump pump pit is located close to where the trench drain will be installed by the rear door.
Going under interior walls
With a small section of the drywall removed for an opening the waterproofing system can be installed. This shows the system being connected to the trench drain at the rear door.
Battery Back Up Sump Pump
Water testing the back up pump so make sure it is all working. The 1500 gallon and hour back up pump is the one with the white top in the sump pump pit.
Trench drain next to Finish Sump Pump
The floor is re concreted in around the sump pump and trench drain at the out side door to trap leaking water coming under the door.
Waterproofing Past the Bathroom
So items next to the exterior wall of the basement need to be moved to install the waterproofing system. In this case we were able to go past the bathroom without moving anything. NOTE: paneling is needed to be removed.
Waterproofing along a basement wall
A small section of the floor is removed to make the space needed for the waterproofing pipe to be installed. Here, the pipe in finished with new concrete. The water collected by the pipe drains to the sump pump.
Installing the discharge line
Proper distances for exiting the water pumped from the sump pump is very important.
Finished install exterior discharge line
The water pumped out of the basement is drained far enough away from the basement to make sure it will not flow back towards the home. This yard was fairly level nearer to the home so the line was extended well to the back of the yard.
