Mount Vernon, Illinois homeowners Alan and Nancy needed help with their wet basement. They had tried dehumidifiers and decided it was time to call Woods Basement Systems. Team Woods developed a plan for them. First, Foreman Mason and his crew installed WaterGuard and CleanSpace. Then, Foreman John and his crew did a half-wall reconstruction using EverLast Walls. Now Nancy and Alan can enjoy their basement knowing it is cleaner and drier, making it safer.

Wet Carpet and Dehumidifiers Before Install

While dehumidifiers can help a lot, when water is still coming in they can only do so much. By waterproofing the basement we can remove the source of the water. This will allow the dehumidifiers to do their jobs efficiently.

Wet Wood Floors and Walls in Bedroom

During construction the foundation is poured in three parts, the footing, the wall, and the floor. This three part process means there are three gaps that water can make its way into and into your basement. The perimeter of the home is the most susceptible to the damage caused by this leakage.

CleanSpace and WaterGuard Installed

The CleanSpace goes behind the wall and will collect any water vapor that comes in through the porous surface of the walls and directs it to the WaterGuard. The WaterGuard system goes along the perimeter of the basement and collects water that gets in from gaps in the construction process. It then directs this water to the sump pump where it is removed from the home and pumped a safe distance away.

Bedrooms are an important area to waterproof because of the amount of time we spend breathing that air. Drier rooms cannot support dust mites, mold spores, and other allergens.

EverLast Walls Process

EverLast walls can be installed as full walls or half walls. When installed as half walls, like in this project, we must finish the installation with PVC boards to complete the look without compromising the water resistance.

Once the finished the EverLast 1/2 walls are very stylish. The finishing boards are PVC so they also will not allow for mold and allergen growth.

The EverLast Walls are the best replacement when completing a basement. They are inorganic so they will not allow for mold and rot. They are durable and damage resistant. They are also easy to clean and never need repainted.
