Fiberglass batt insulation
Often, rim joists are "insulated" with fiberglass batt insulation. Unfortunately, this form of insulation still allows for outside air to enter your basement or crawlspace.
R-Value you need?
Although this fiberglass batt is has an R-value of 13, it may not be providing the insulation and comfort you're hoping for.
Stripped and Sealed!
Dr. Energy Saver St. Louis can remove your existing fiberglass batts or simply apply spray foam insulation over top of the batts to provide a completely air sealed and insulated rim joist.
