Water leaking on top of the slab floor
During even aveage rainfall the carpet and wall along one front room of this home would get wet. This was a structural slab foundation house. A trench footing is typical poured first, then a concrete slab on grade, the ground, stopping at the edge and on top the the trench footing. Rain water was getting on top of the home's floor in one room only.
New side walk and black top driveway
The homeowner added a new black top driveway and side walk along the from of the home but only installed a curb and landscaping bed on one side.
Landscaping drain installed
In the corner of the landscaping bed a drain was installed but the exit for drainage was elevated at the curd so water only slowing poured out. Additionally, the downspout for the front porch roof was tied into that drain. This added to the amount of water getting into the landscaping bed during a rain and flooded that area.
Flooded Lanscaping
Without proper drainage a french drain was needed to drain the water away fast enough to keep it from getting in the floor and damaging the drywall too.
New Drain
A new drain was installed across the new black top driveway to keep the floor dry. A second drain line was installed to the downspout for faster drainage and to not clogging the other discharge line from debris.
